On October 12, 2018, CLSMF took its HELPline on the road to the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) Summit in Jacksonville, FL. Lawyers from across the state stopped by the CLSMF Mobile HELPline to take live calls from residents seeking civil legal help. Attorneys who participated in this pro bono opportunity assisted low-income callers with bankruptcy, consumer and family law matters. The Mobile HELPline even received a visit from Florida Supreme Court Justices Peggy Quince and Barbara Pariente who took time to share a few words on the importance of pro bono.

As Justice Pariente said regarding this CLSMF pro bono project, “You don’t have to worry if you are not familiar with the area [of law]. There is plenty of help there, and I promise you will find this very, very satisfying and you will make a difference.”

CLSMF’s Mobile HELPline offers law firms, bar associations and other groups the opportunity to take live CLSMF HELPline calls from the convenience of their offices or other location. CLSMF provides all the equipment needed to participate and offers staff support throughout the entire process. For volunteer attorneys answering calls, it is a quick and simple way to give back, but for the callers it changes the trajectory of their lives.
